Welcome to BHF - Brierley Medical Centre

Barnsley Healthcare Federation is a not for profit, Community Interest Company, we were formed by a group of Barnsley GPs in June 2015.  Our guiding principle is to deliver patient focussed care that improves health outcomes for the residents of Barnsley.

We are currently accepting new patients at Brierley Medical Centre, if you wish to register please call in to our Reception where you can complete a registration form.

We are confident that our website will provide clear and concise help and give our patients the information they require in an easy and convenient format. Overview and outcome of open competitive selection process regarding the contact and appointment for BHF to run GP services

Back in August the CCG wrote out individually to and invited views and feedback from all registered patients of Brierley Medical Centre via a brief survey.  This could be completed online, via paper freepost copy or at an in person drop in session held at Brierley Methodist Church about anything that you’d like to share with us about your personal experiences of the GP services that you receive at the practice.

The CCG received 215 responses which was 9% of the total amount of people that were sent the survey and had a good coverage of responses across all age groups and post codes within the catchment area that the practice serves. Thank you to everyone who took the time to provide their feedback.

The CCG collated all the feedback into a report and then used the feedback to help develop some of the questions they asked all the bidders as part of the selection process.

A copy of this report can be accessed via our website at www.barnsleyccg.nhs.uk/brierley or alternatively can be requested by calling us on 01226 433773.

What does this mean for you as a registered patient

Nothing will change for you as a registered patient of the practice. You will continue to receive all your current health and care services from your GP practice at Brierley Medical Centre and you do not need to do anything now or after 1 December 2021.

The new contract will start from 1 December 2021.  Barnsley Healthcare Federation have committed to work with the CCG and existing practice patient group to look at and learn from the feedback received from registered patients as part of this process to see where good practice can be built upon and focus in on the key areas identified for improvement by registered patients.
